Healthy forests benefit us all in providing clean air and clean water
to every living being.
Sustainable forestry represents the best chance of preserving one of our greatest natural resources.
At Moose on the Loose Lumber Company, watershed restoration, wildfire risk reduction and improving wildlife habitat are achieved by managing the young trees and directing ecologic trends towards a productive and vigorously growing forest that is resilient, long-lived, and compatible with fire. To be truly ecologically sustainable these timber producing forests also need to be managed to support the biodiversity necessary to maintain a thriving habitat for a multitude of native wildlife and plant species
Moose on the Loose Lumber Company is a Certified Montana Family Forest and it is our belief that active management to reduce fire hazard while improving the health and resiliency of the forest is fundamental to reach our goal of restoring former industrial timber lands to their full potential. Positive Impact Forestry encompasses both protecting the forest for future generations while also seeking opportunities to enhance and improve forest environments that have been damaged by previous logging and management practices. Please see our About page for details of our ongoing projects.
